They are\u00a0<strong>50% more profitable<\/strong> than the average. So, what\u2019s going on?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Doing the research for the Grow Your Digital Agency\u00a0book, it was easy to see that high-performing service firms are the ones whose clients believe in the business. The \u2018positioning\u2019 (and \u2018targeting\u2019) talks to clients in a way that the <strong>client can relate to and\u00a0understand<\/strong>. The agency understands the client\u2019s needs, hurts and wants, and has a\u00a0solution. The likelihood is that the agency is a specialist and not a generalist. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inorbit.si\/speakers\/robert-craven\/\">That is the\u00a0Grow Your Digital Agency \u2018ology\u2019<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">High-performers have always had a particular profile; they have always been identified as\u00a0being different from the average.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, how do they drive their growth?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They could just spend more on <strong>marketing<\/strong> and <strong>sales<\/strong>. They spend less and get better results.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Every agency says pretty much the same boring thing, selling similar services to similar\u00a0people using similar straplines, and getting similar people with similar qualifications to sell\u00a0similar services at similar prices. Clients have switched off; shouting louder just irritates them\u00a0some more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The days of interruption marketing are over: people trust referrals, recommendations, word-of-mouth and reputation way more than any paid-for sales campaign. In fact, most people\u00a0believe that businesses lie in the adverts!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The high-performers, meanwhile, focus on client needs and priorities. They are not\u00a0mesmerised by their own reflection. They focus their limited budgets on specific target\u00a0customer groups, and use a clear and easy to understand message. Again, simple when you\u00a0think about it!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So, who are these agencies that grow nine times faster than the average, and are <strong>50% more\u00a0profitable than the average?<\/strong> How can you join them? What do you need to do? The starting\u00a0point, I am afraid, comes straight out of day one of your Marketing 101 class. You have to\u00a0<strong>create and communicate a clear position<\/strong> that demonstrates <strong>how you can help your target\u00a0clients<\/strong>\u2026 unequivocally.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A totally compelling proposition becomes seductive. As a starting point, ask yourself if you\u00a0consistently communicate:<br \/>\n <strong>1. Your overt, quantitative business benefit<\/strong><br \/>\n <strong> 2. The real reason you can deliver<\/strong><br \/>\n <strong> 3. The dramatic difference between you and your competitors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I meet very few agencies who have actually done this properly.
